What is National Poetry Slam (NPS)?

The National Poetry Slam is an annual competition in which teams from North America and Europe vie for a team title. It is a combination of the Super Bowl, Poetry Summer Camp and a travelling exhibition and has emerged as the top slam event.

The host city changes from year to year and the collaborative event ranks as the biggest of its kind. Poetry Slam, Inc., a non-profit organization, manages team registration and tournament direction, while the host city handles the performance venues, staff and one randomly-chosen audience member drawn from the poetry lovers of the city (lucky person!).

NPS 2011 was one of the greatest National Poetry Slams.
